Showreel, Winter 2011/12
2011 was a very busy year. The reel I cut in the summer is now almost entirely out of date, so here’s a brand new one to see me through the winter.
Making Ideas
Commissioned by digital agency With Associates to explore the process of laser cutting and engraving at London’s Cutlasercut. From artwork to delivery.
Yeah, that’s right. LASERS!
This film forms part of an ongoing collaborative project at With Associates to explore and understand the finer details of their clients’ business needs and goals.
My role as creative director and producer was to develop the concept, direct the shoot and manage all aspects of post production and project workflow.
Telegraph Create promo
A promotional film for Telegraph Create, the award-winning cross-media integrated advertising team at the Telegraph Media Group. This animated short takes the viewer on a journey through the team’s approach to each and every brief.
Jon Tickner, the head of creative solutions, commissioned me to conceive, direct and animate this film, which will form the core of Telegraph Create’s new and current business presentations to some of the biggest brands in the world.
The Telegraph / Sainsbury’s how-to guides
A short title sequence for a series of branded how-to cooking guides featured on a sponsored minisite, telegraph.co.uk/sainsburys.
I was commissioned by The Telegraph to design and create this title graphic as part of an integrated advertising campaign for the Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range.
The Telegraph / Sainsbury’s credits video
A credits video commissioned by the in-house creative solutions team at The Telegraph to showcase the award-winning campaign to launch Sainsbury’s new Taste the Difference range.
This is taken from a series of six videos, all showcasing different integrated advertising campaigns from 2011.
The videos in this series utilise a mix of original footage, animation, and multi-media excerpts from the campaign itself in a creative, cost-effective and versatile technique to fully communicate the breadth and depth of the campaigns.
UCAS
More hand-drawn silliness for UCAS—the UK’s application service for higher eduction. This funny and irreverent content is aimed at 17 to 18 year old school-leavers.
Made at the Telegraph Media Group to promote its exclusive partnership with UCAS to publish university clearing information. My role was to write the concept and create the animation. Illustration and character design by Keith Seymour.
Citroën DS4
Four branded films commissioned by Citroën (UK) and OMD for telegraph.co.uk/citroends4. Designed to showcase the DS4, these films explore the relationships of the car with alternative sport, music, fashion and art.
The Telegraph commissioned me as the creative director and project lead to conceive and write the ideas then guide the creative to final delivery. I was also the technical lead, being responsible for the management of project workflow and post production. Sound design from Box Of Toys Audio.

As creative director I developed the concept, making the interview visually interesting and appropriately styled for the brand. I was also responsible for managing the project workflow and post production.

Concept, direction and animation by myself, with production from Oliver Walpole. Design and drawing of the robot was the work of illustrator Keith Seymour.

A five minute epic directed and animated by myself with all drawings and illustrations from Keith Seymour.
